In spite of this little excursion into calendrical mnemonics, our author found it important to emphasize that he had:

no desire to offer any rules for the lunar age on any given day, still less for the heads of the months, concerning which the computists weaken themselves and their disciples through lunar regulars and epacts, not knowing that the anticipation of the conjunction makes it impossible for their rules to remain eternally fixed and infallible. This they could not know, because it is the remit of a higher science and demonstrated by a more profound and nobler craftsman, the astronomer, who is nonetheless subservient to the astrologer in his further operations. I therefore omitted the science of the claves terminorum, if it can be called a science, which is superfluous since all mobile feasts depend on Easter. For those rules concerning the claves terminorum are complicated and obscure, not sources of enlightenment (lumina intellectus).82
